ScenTraK™ Technology

The ScenTraK™ technology is an opto-chemical device using a fan that pulls air through a 2-way
valve into a sensing chamber. To take a  sample, the   air from the odor source to enters the
sensing chamber. As the air passes over the sensors, changes in the levels and time course of
LED-excited fluorescence in the sensors is detected. Increases or decreases in the fluorescent
signals across all the sensors are reported over the time of the sniff, analyzed using
pattern
recognition algorithms and compared to a predetermined odor signature. This multi-dimensional
approach allows for increased probability of detection and improved discrimination among
samples.
Between sampling trials, air is drawn through a filter ahead of the sensing chamber, ensuring that
the sensors are continually flushed with “clean” air.
